Father and Son
A father and son photo shoot is not something that happens every day. Timothy and Zack are the cool guys I’ve worked with for this portrait. It’s awesome to see how the little boy wants to follow on his father’s footsteps from the fashion to the hairstyle. Timothy is not your typical polo shirt wearing kind of dad, but he is that of a leather and suede kind of guy. With just a glance from this photo, you can already see how close the pair are. “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I asked little Zack. Without sparing a thought, “I want to be just like my dad.” He answered. 1
Ready, set, go!
It’s that time of the year where people gather around their Televisions to watch a good game of ice hockey. For this photo shoot, I was sent to the Pepsi Center to snap the triumphant and memorable moments of a match against two powerful teams. Hockey is popular here in Denver, Colorado. I was given the responsibility to capture the match through my lens – this is the thought that sent jitters down my skin. The match was intense and so is my determination to capture the match frame by frame. After the game has ended, I felt a wash of relief and pride at the same time. It’s not too often you are given the opportunity to photograph for such an iconic event, right?
Details and Sunlight
Have you ever tried to take a closer look at the little details around you? As a photographer, I am given this opportunity every time a project lands at my doorsteps, especially those of weddings and engagements. There are just so much details worth taking a closer look at. For instance, there are the wedding rings, the bride’s shoes and gown, the wedding cake, the bouquets and the decorations. For this wedding photo shoot, he headed to a rustic little house near the reception. The light was fantastic! Not only did it highlight the details of the bride’s intricate wedding gown, it added drama to the portrait. I also jumped to the chance of capturing the magnificent in their wedding. Here are some of the photos I captured from Stewart and Anna’s wedding:
Photography is not just a passion for me, it also open doors for me to meet new friends. Ulysses and Ivy are the clients I’ve become friends with through their engagement and wedding photo shoot. Over a cup of coffee from the nearby coffee shop, I learned the story of how they met and what they are doing for work. You know – the typical getting to know you conversation. However, the 1 hour meet up turned to 2. We admitted that we enjoyed talking to each other. After their successful engagement photo shoot with me by the nearby eco-park, the couple booked me again for their intimate wedding by the beach. After delivering the photo album, we remained in touch. Photography, indeed, is a industry filled with variety of wonderful opportunities.
Engagement – Peter & Lynn
Another awesome engagement couples shoot… this time at the Denver Botanic Gardens. If you’re looking for a fun location for engagement photos in Denver, there’s really no better place. Since the flowers only blooms for a few weeks a year, you get shots that are more unique, and the colors and excitement really help you end up with awesome images.
Engagement – Julie and Bobby
I’d already shot baby Gracie several times, and Mommy and Daddy wanted to make a day out of baby pics and engagement photos. We met down in Washington Park and started walking. There are several cool spots down there, so we ended up with some really great engagement shots. If you’re looking for a great place for some cool, couples engagement shots, there’s really no better place. Check it out!!
Some people hate the frosty and chilly vibe that winter brings. Some hate winter because of the pile of snow blocking their driveways, not to mention the daily task of shovelling it off the road. Not for me! I love winter simply because it gives me the excuse to stay at home with my cup of coffee and a photo magazine where I can draw inspirations from. The Garland family shares the same enthusiasm that I do for winter, except that they love hanging out in the snowy streets, build snowmans and go skiing at the wintry mountains. To capture their love for the winter season, we decided to hold the shoot outdoors. Seeing the family all bundled in their winter outfit is absolutely delightful. I had the honour to capture the wonderful and sweet relationship this family have in frame. I hope to work with them again in the future!
Engagement Photos – Huge & Bree
I’ve been friends with this couple for years, so it was a blast shooting their engagement pictures. We actually shot these after they were already married – maybe it’ll be the new trend in engagement pictures? Wade is a HUGE basketball fan, so between college basketball playoffs and the weather not cooperating, we ended up not being able to shoot before their wedding… so a few weeks after they got back from the honeymoon, we got together in downtown Denver and shots some after-wedding engagement pics!
Wedding – The Smiths
Talk about a fun wedding… This was one for the books. We got to hit three classic Denver locations with this wedding, so the pictures have a ton of variety and a really cool vibe. The bride got ready at the Mansion, so we took her bridal shots there. The wedding ceremony was held at the bride’s father’s house, overlooking a Lake at sunset. They even had their two dogs in the wedding! We ended the night with a blow out reception. Love this couple, they’ve been friends of ours for years, and the wedding was an absolute blast to shoot.
Engagement Photo – The Moores
After taking baby photos and engagement photos, I was the go-to guy for wedding photos for the Moore family. Daddy was going into the Army, so they moved up their planned wedding date in order to get married before he left for Afghanistan for his second tour. They had a cute little wedding at a country club in Denver, Colorado. I absolutely love this family – we’re really going to miss them when they move away!
